BLACK PLASTIC
MUSIC VIDEO
October 18, 2023; Fairfax, Virginia
Role: Director, videographer, editor.
Awards: "Best Music Video" at GMU's Communication Undergraduate Award Ceremony (2024).
Extra: Recognized and praised by Carver Commodore.
Black Plastic is a song released by Carver Commodore. In 2023, I created a music video to this song as a project assigned in my first video production course in George Mason University. The parameters were simple: convey a story through a series of visually appealing shots and scenes. This music video tells a story of a boy so consumed by the notion of wealth as power, treating his black, plastic, card as permission to do whatever he wants, with no consequences. This project opens up the discussion of how people can use money as a way to dodge consequences.
Notable learning experiences: Location scouting, talent scouting, hands-on exploration of different cameras and its peripherals, video editing. Strengthens storytelling abilities.
COLLEGE DAYS
VIDEO BLOG
October 7, 2024; Fairfax, Virginia
Role: Director, videographer, editor.
Awards: "Excellence in Video Blog Production" at GMU's Communication Undergraduate Award Ceremony (2025).
"College Days" is a vlog-style short film that showcases my daily lifestyle as a college student. The narrative I chose to highlight tells the journey of being a commuter full-time student with a full-time job-- an identity that's relatable to many Mason students.
Assigned as a project in my Videography course from Mason, this project also explored the business side of media production. To prepare for this project, we drafted a video budget and storyboard as part of a mock RFP.
Notable learning experiences: Creating appropriate business records to deliverables, such as proposals and invoices.
CLEAN FAIRFAX
INTERVIEW VIDEO
April 15, 2025; Fairfax, Virginia
Role: Director, co-videographer, editor.
Awards: "Best Expert Interview" at GMU Communication Department's Screening and Awards Ceremony (2025).
In a team of three people from GMU's Environmental Storytelling course, we conducted an interview with Jennifer Cole of Clean Fairfax. We discussed the importance of community and unity when it comes to combating the issue of plastic pollution. Her expert knowledge on climate advocacy exhibits the importance of legislative actions when it comes to making tangible change for the better.
Preparing for this project highlighted the importance of research before beginning a project, especially ones meant to inform. This assignment also challenged me to create engaging content using the interview shoot, B-rolls, and narration.
Notable learning experiences: Interviewing process (including research, preparation, and talent scouting), capturing relevant B-roll clips, creating a powerful narrative with dialogue and appropriate visuals.
CAMPAIGNS &
RESEARCH PROJECTS
Research-focused projects that showcase an array of strategic deliverables.
Patriot Plates is a three-week long social media campaign created by a team of 6 people through the PR & Social Media course taken in Mason. This campaign sought to increase awareness and provide resources for healthy eating habits among GMU students. We used popular social media platforms among Mason students, such as Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest to promote budget-friendly recipes, educational content about nutrition, as well as on-campus resources available.
In its lifetime, the campaign achieved significant milestones such as: amassing over 1k views across 5 videos on TikTok, reaching 50 followers on Instagram within the first week, and receiving earned media due to engaging and strategic posts.
Notable learning experiences: Creating business records, conceptualizing and executing a PR campaign, conducting primary and secondary research, creating strategic social media posts.
Role: Team member specializing in content creating and visual designing.

The Hidden Costs of Deregulation
Many might argue that deregulation is the key to economic growth. However, it is proven to be more complicated, especially in sectors that directly impact public health and safety. Recently, a wave of food recalls has raised questions about the role of government oversight in consumer protection. How do the failures of these measures compromise public trust, undermine consumer protection, and also impose hidden economic costs?
